the daisy and the raindrops

I know Alex will most likely think this to her liking as I know she is a daisy kind of a girl! This is from this morning once the rain cleared up and before the mosquitoes found me.

Baboo the kitty and Sophie the swiffer dog or is she a loofa sponge

Over at the Darlings for a cook out or cook in as the grill was out of gas. Had some yummy burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, cucumber salad, some real great watermelon and grapes and Sue brought the infamous peanut butter and chocolate bars. Had fun catching up and meeting the newest addition to the household named Sophie. She is fun and is full of energy. Really likes people too! Baboo seemed to be a little jealous of the new puppy so I played with her a bit too.

surprise flowers for Lindsey

I was out this morning as was Lindsey and when Lindsey got home there was a very lovely bouquet of flowers for her on the front porch! Adam you rock, you should have seen the very large smile on Lindsey's face.

Friday May 28,2010 Anticipation of the walk for the diploma

A good friend asked if I would be interested in photographing her sons graduation. While I was not thrilled with it being in a high school gym because of the difficulties to get good clear photo's I am so happy I decided to take this on. I have followed Bill and his group of friends who also ran cross country for 5 years. I have been able to get a glimpse of these young men's lives and record it during this time including cross country meets and their senior photos. It was also pretty neat to hear two of them speak at graduation with such confidence and insight to life and as always a some humor.

This is a photo of Bill as he takes a deep breath before his name is called and he walks across the stage to get his diploma and then on to shake the principals hand and there was something about small water balloons that the principle gave each student.

Dutch Village

Made a quick stop at the Dutch Village after a long day of work and checked out some of the new spring and early summer flowers. Alex will be happy to know that one of the ladies that works there remembered me as the greeting card photo lady. =)

Monday May 24,2010 white flower

A very hot and muggy afternoon and not much to choose to shoot in the yard and I was very busy swatting some very large mosquitoes. It is really hard to photograph when swatting and yes running from mosquitoes. So this is it for today.

Sunday May 23,2010 A hot day at the beach

After Lindsey went back to school, Dave and I packed the cameras and headed to Grand Haven State Park. Oh my goodness you would have thought it was a hot holiday Saturday. The traffic was at a stand still and they were turning traffic away at the State Park on a Sunday in May at 3 in the afternoon. And when we came up tot he beach there were lots and lots of kites as it was kite weekend. So here is a shot of the large balloon/kites at the packed beach.

Saturday May 22,2010 A morning with Alex

Alex and I were out doing round 2 of senior pictures on Saturday. Boy was it foggy at the beach and Alex's pretty curls wilted pretty darn fast but her beauty still shown through all morning. Tammy wanted a few photo's of Alex with her camera as that is a big part of her life and I think it will be a good portion of a successful future. So Saturdays photo of the day is Alex getting ready to take a picture of me.

Friday May 21,2010 work magazines

One of my friends at work was nice enough to share some of her Logistics magazines to pass on to Lindsey. Some of the articles are actually pretty interesting. Lindsey is bringing them to school and once she is done leaving them for the professor of Logistics.

Peculiar flower in the woods

May 17 Girls Varsity soccer game

We have not shot to many sports this spring withe weather, work and other obligations. So went to the soccer fields and caught the JV and Varsity girls games. I know some of the girls and some of the parents so I thought you would like this action shot.

Sunday May 16,2010 woods carpet

Again to the yard for photo of the day and this white and green low growing ground cover does add a nice touch to the woods out front!

Pop goes the flower

Back home after a week vacation and wandering through the yard to see what has bloomed while I was away. This flower is so cool!! It is a bunch of flowers packed into this bulb.

May 14, 2010 West Virginia stop

On our way back west to Michigan, Lindsey and I stopped in Dunbar West Virginia to see Pat and Andy, Gin unfortunately had to work. So we got to stretch our legs at about the halfway point and try to keep up with my grand nephew Andy. Okay that makes me sound old. But not as strange as my brother Kevin being a grandpa!! I don't know why that is but it just seems weird to be called grandpa or me being called great aunt!!

May 13,2010 The Pool jocks

At Lindsey's new apartment they do not open the pool until Memorial weekend but it has recently been filled. So the only "residents" allowed pool side until then are some Virginia Mallards. The rest of the local ducks and candian geese are at the pond so these would be the affluent ducks in the neighborhood relaxing poolside.

Lindsey and Adam

Wandered through an arboretum. Complete with geckos, gardener snakes and some flowers. Lindsey was NOT to fond of the creatures but I was able to get a few photo's.

May 11,2010 Colonial Williamsburg garden

We spent about 3 hours at the Colonial Williamsburg on Tuesday. What a cool place and only saw about 1/2 of it. Lindsey and Adam were very patient with me as I wandered through with my camera just a clicking away. Also got some nice photo's of them too!!

Mothers Day fllowers

Lindsey and Adam bought me some light orange roses for Mothers Day so I decided to capture them.

May 9th

I would have to say this was one of the top 3 mothers days so far. Lindsey and Adam bought me roses, made me funfetti cupcakes and a spaghetti dinner. Then we went to York Town to meander. I got to spend the day with my favorite daughter and Adam, take photo's and check out a cool beach area and historic area. What a great day!!

May 8th, Virginia Beach

Down on the boardwalk in Virginia Beach is the giant sculpture of Neptune. Lindsey and Adam look like they are ants compared to this sculpture. Had a great couple of hours in the 90 degree heat. Walked the boardwalk and the waters edge, listened to a three man band, did a little browsing in the shops all in all a great afternoon.

May 7th

Long day traveling from Holland Michigan to Newport News Virginia. Only took 1 photo and this is the crazy sky when we stopped for breakfast at McDonald's in Indiana. We have been on the road about 4 hours at this point.

Two photo day a purple and a white

I missed yesterday so today I post two. I have being eyeing this purple sparkler plant for two weeks and finally it is starting to bloom. This is one cool flower when fully bloomed. And then out front my lily of the valley are a bloomin. This reminds me of my youth as we had these planted all along the side of the house.

Favorite daughter

Lindsey is home for a bit and wanted to wander downtown to scope out tulip time vendors for when she and Elsie head down for elephant ears. Since the favorite daughter is soon to be departing Michigan =( , I grabbed my camera and found her favorite color, pink, and used it as a backdrop for my photo today.

Tulip time, just add water

Parade route will be stem fest but if you get over by Kinderplatts there are lots of blooming tulips there. Had some rain this morning so it just added to the photo's texture.

flowers in the woods

Wandering home from getting the oil changed and stopped along the road to capture the pretty purple and white flowers nestled in the woods.
